This is a bronze of Habbie Simpson the 17th century piper of Kilbarchan sited in a niche in the Steeple. On Lilias Day, a local historical pageant held every June,  a flag hides the niche while he leads the costumed processions and floats  through the village then at midnight amid much merriment he reappears in his niche
