Getting ready

Maidstone Model Engineering Society meet in Mote Park on Sunday afternoons and, during the Summer months, give passenger rides around their 1,826 feet track for 30p/passenger. They have been doing this for a while - since 1961; I know that each of my children has spent many a happy Sunday riding on these trains. Most are one inch to one foot scale models and they are beautiful. There is a Youtube video showing the track and some of the engines including an A3. I've bunged some more in the extras bin.

Two miles around the lake in Mote Park and a couple of smaller walks nearer home and the step count is over 7,500 for the day. Somehow Fitbit also thinks I've done more than 5 miles but this isn't correct - I think it's nearer 4.
