Hard to beat a bit of swan action isn't it? I grabbed this bad boy during another visit to RSPB Dungeness. The plan today was to walk all the way round the reserve and visit the furthest hides, places I've not been before. the whole circuit is a couple of miles and the weather was tremendous - just a teeshirt rather than the sweater and fully fastened waterproofs that I needed when I was there on Tuesday.

The furthest hide overlooks Denge marsh and that's where the stars were today. A young female Marsh Harrier was looping lazily while a Kestrel preened itself on the gatepost of a bungalow across the scrape. Greylags, Egrets, Mute Swans and  Gadwalls, and a Bearded Tit made a brief appearance. All up a smashing afternoon and home in time to enjoy Japan beating South Africa at the Amex
