Lighthouse

What a wonderful bright sunny day for our last full day over in Mid Argyll :-)
Today we park our car at Bellanoch Bridge and had a lovely walk in the sunshine to Crinan.
Very busy when we arrived at Crinan with lots of yachts of varying sizes waiting to come in and out of the sea lock. Lots to see :-)
After soaking up the atmosphere at Crinan we headed back to Bellanoch and the car for lunch at the Kilmartin museum cafe.
After lunch we headed to the car park at the Nether Largie stones sketchbooks in hand to make some sketches of the Temple Wood stones.A large group of American tourists arrived at the stones so we made a quick retreat back to the Nether Largie stones to do a few quick sketches, Maeve having been put in the back of the car to have a quick snooze :-)
We then headed back to Dunadd and decided that it would be fitting on such a lovely day to climb to the top of what remains of the Iron Age fort  to get a view of the surrounding countryside.
My main shot is a detail of the little lighthouse at Crinan and a pretty little church naer the canal and my other extras are of the footprint and basin at the top of the hill fort which was said to be involved in the coronation of the Kings of Dalriada and another of the view from the hill fort towards the sea at Crinan.
A lovely way to end our last full day at Dunadd :-)
