#LandReform

The hashtag #LandReform is increasingly being used as part of the debate on the Scottish Government's Land Reform Bill which has started its progress through the Scottish Parliament.

Tonight the Rural Affairs Committee held a public meeting about the bill on Jura.

The Convener Rob Gibson and I came by ferry from Kennacraig via Port Askaig and were on the island mid afternoon in plenty of time for the six o'clock start.

The rest of our colleagues were due to arrive by air from Glasgow to Islay by 4.00 but Flybe subjected them to several hours of delay ( not untypical on the route alas) which meant that Rob had to start the meeting without any support except from me as committee member and local MSP.

They eventually arrived about 7.00 and even more members of the public from Jura and Islay had arrived by then too.

It turned out to be a fascinating and very worthwhile discussion with a big focus on housing.
