Hidden treasure
Our hens are hiding eggs from us.
They are refusing to lay in the nest box, or even anywhere in the henhouse. Instead they are finding ever more obscure places to gather together a nice clutch. When we then hunt them down and raid the hiding place, they move on and start again. This would make sense if any were broody or if indeed we had a cockerel to make the eggs hatchable.
I reckon it's all a cunning plan just to annoy us. I'm sure come the end of summer we'll find a huge number rotting amongst the nettle jungle.
Meanwhile we'll play dunk the egg to see which ones float and then have the drowned ones for tea.
