Apple juice

Having shipped off 40kg of our apple to friends with a cider press, today was our chance to do thr work ourselves and make apple juice.Sensibly the local community association has all the kit available and we had booked our slot for this afternoon.
Mash the apples, press the apples, pasteurise the juice and then bottle it was the process and we were helped through it all by Angelique who seems ot have a variety of roles. in the commune.
We reckoned we have brought about 50kg of apples in a variety of states and ended up with 34 litres of juice. The press itself you can see here is an impressive beast. Rather more so than the one we borrowed last week.
Today we started clearing up the house and garden - with a ferry booked for Friday our Summer sojourn is coming towards its end.
