New shoots

Terrible day. Is it nearly time for Wimbledon? During a brief respite took my camera to have the sensor cleaned. now using my old 400D. Quite a difference, especially with regard to the smaller sensor. The crop factor makes quite a difference.
Wandered down to the pond and noticed these trees with new shoots sprouting from the sides of the trunk. They seemed a little out of place.
