Her birthday; both off work, so after dropping G at school, we pottered about at hers before heading off to Little Sparta around midday.
She'd never been before and as it was the 2nd last day it's open this year, we thought it might be a good option to visit.
Whilst not great weather, it wasn't prohibitively wet (a sheen of drizzle was as bad as it got) and we enjoyed a tranquil couple of hours pottering about, chatting, admiring, exploring. She was calm and smiled a lot so I reckon job done. Highlight?
"You're so thoughtful to bring me here"
"Er - doing something I want to do on your birthday? Thoughtful? Hmmm"
Then back to town; Doctor's for 6 (forgot about the rugby; it was busy) and met Baz, Mel, Nic and Bill and at 7 to the Union of Genius for Spanish pea soup, chilli and choc strawberry roulade. BYOB, own tunes, place to ourselves? Really good night.
G a bit stroppy as I left in the wee small hours, but hey... A good day.
