Out after work to meet up with the errant son. Needless to say, he cycles to the wrong cinema but eventually shows up in time for a pint and then we take in Everest - the 3D version. It's much better than I feared, and even quite gripping, but it slumps a bit towards then end. Which may be quite realistic, of course.
There was then the usual gargle at the usual place; having said that, for a variety of reasons, the boys' attendance has been patchy of late. Andy, a regular, summoned me over to ask where we'd been, as our absence had been noted. We call you crowd the Shandon Fusiliers, he said as an aside.
I rather like that. It must be our upright military type bearing, I fancy. Unless there's another, far less flattering connotation...
