Marciana and Mario and I toasted and ground up coffee beans this morning. The process involved toasting the dry, locally-sourced beans in huge ceramic pot over a wood fire then adding equal parts SUGAR and letting it melt/burn into the beans and then allowing the candy-coated beans to cool and grinding them, sugar-coat and all, into a fine powder for passing under hot water.
