Back in time

We explored a bit more of Ancient Rome today with a trip to the pyramid (!) then back up to the Colosseum and The Forums. Magical place that can transport you back to ancient times. The Forum is where it is reported Mark Anthony made his famous 'Friends, Romans, Countrymen ' speech. It is fascinating to picture how they lived ... I have worked out they like their steps!!
We wandered back to the Spanish Steps using different little streets that open out onto fabulous piazzas and marvellous buildings and alike. We managed to make our route take in the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon and Piazza Navona again!
After taxing back to the hotel we planned to walk out to take a picture of the Vatican from above the town but rain put paid to that! There's always tomorrow ...
