Fri-yay!
Had a lovely day today, where I really appreciated my retirement freedom.
Got up slowly and had coffee with freshly-baked bread for breakfast, then headed to Crawfordsburn Scout Centre, where the new sixth form were having a team-building day. Even though I'm now a retired teacher I still get invited to school things and the promise of a hotdog was enough to ensure my presence today!
It was great to see the girls having such fun together in the different adventure activities and good to catch up with erstwhile colleagues. I had to leave the fun to go have an eyebrow wax (ouch - but certain standards of grooming must be maintained), when my charming chums offered to drip hot marshmallow on my eyebrows to do a 'homer'. It was not difficult to turn them down.
Then this afternoon it was off for a walk to see friend G at work to deliver a thank you bar of chocolate - he was my knight in shining armour when I had a bit of oily car trouble yesterday!
Coming home again past the pond I tried to get some photos of the swans and their 5 healthy cygnets, but they weren't very good.
Apologies for the woeful focus in this, but I liked it anyway :)
It's Friyay!
