A Beauty

The American Beautyberry Callicarpa, is a shrub or small tree with very distinctive tiny fuchsia or reddish purple fruits. It's a Florida Native plant and is highly favored by our local birds as the winter season sets in. It has been used as a folk remedy to prevent mosquito bites. Beautyberry brings lots of color to the landscape just as many other shrubs are losing their leaves in preparation for winter. The 'extra' shows a Monarch butterfly Ovipositing her eggs on the underside of a milkweed leaf. Wishing all of you a great week! :)
