Eclipsed
... by many other moon photos on blip (see Graham Colling's composite for example), but it's the being there that counts. This records our dedication to blip, as we set the alarm for 3:45 a.m. and both got up. We weren't alone; on the square we met neighbour C with his young son J, and a thunder of paws heralded the arrival of Mystère wondering what all these intruders were doing in his nocturnal empire.
It was a beautiful night, clear and not cold. After fumbling about with the camera on the square for a bit, we walked out of the village to eliminate light pollution. I took a few more photos but mostly just admired the moon, before turning to admire the star-spangled sky. More paw-thundering -- Mystère was so bemused by what we were doing that he even followed us here. Sadly I couldn't get him to pose in silhouette ...
Like wimps we only stayed out for three quarters of an hour, just until the moon was completely eclipsed, and then it was back to bed.
