Da Auld Village Hall

It's been a fine day.  Sunny spells in the morning, bit overcast in the afternoon and thena sunny evening and lovely sunset.

I had planned to get up in the middle of the night to catch the blood moon, slept through the alarm!!  I woke up at 6am  Archie cat woke me up at 6am, shame he hadn't thought to wake me a few hours earlier!  I've had the day off.  My sister Laura came down for a visit in the morning.  After my chores, I walked up to see Laura and her new steam cleaner.  Brian popped along her too and we went for a run down to Sumburgh.  It was fairly dull in the Ness, not many photo opportunities.  I had planned more walks in the afternoon but I have strangely hurt my ankle. I can't seem to put much weight on it.  Not sure how I've done it, went to bed fine and woke up with a slight tingle, hopefully it'll pass soon.
Off to work in the pub tonight, keep my feet up until then.

On my way up to Laura's, I went up the old Tow Road.  It's still used today, mainly for walkers and the odd farm vehicle.  At the top of the road stands the old Cunningsburgh Hall.  I used to enjoy going to the hall as a child, teas etc for the Cunningsburgh Show, the odd auction sale, and then there was great roller discos too :)  It closed in the late 1980s, when the new hall opened further along the road.  Now used as a shed.
