Meeting the locals

An horrendous drive out of Edinburgh this evening after a board strategy discussion. My aim was to get to Hamilton for a bite of food at 17:30 before a 7pm meeting with the South Lanarkshire panel and area support team members. After 50 minutes I had travelled 4.5 miles so I knew that was not going to be possible. A three car shunt on the motorway had caused deadlock.

So inching along and then working though the congers red traffic and more roadworks I managed to arrive 2 minutes late. At least nowadays with mobile technology I had been able to keep everyone informed of progress.

An interesting and stimulating 100 minute discussion ensured on the hearings system and then back to friends for the promised - rehet but very tasty - food.

The trio here are, from the right Alastair Hamilton, a CHS board member; Penny Simpson, the Area Convener for South Lanarkshire, and Iain Montgomery, the Depute.

An enjoyable end to the day.
