Upside down?
I stayed overnight in Hamilton so I could attend a modern studies class in the morning. They were considering the children's hearings system: its principles; its values and its operation. Some students from local schools were also present.
Some interesting and challenging questions including how the system took into account ethnic cultures and traditions which impact on children and young people.
Then on to Livingston for a lunchtime meeting. After a foggy start the day turned into a truly magnificent Autumn day which sadly I could not stop and enjoy.
Then on to the office to meetings - which included a surprise presentation ahead of my birthday on Friday and then a farewell event for one of the staff.
The blip is of the exterior boundary of Hamilton College. The ornate ironwork is from the gates of the now defunct Hamilton Palace. A former magnificent building which had to be demolished due to subsidence.
The local folklore is that the ironwork has been mounted upside down!
