Well The Rain Is Coming
It had already started raining here when I stopped for just a minute this afternoon to grab this quick blip of a tricolored heron over at the salt marsh.
There is a tropical system in place that has the potential to dump 10-12 inches of rain on the Carolinas Sat. Sun. and Mon. The governor of South Carolina has just declared a state of emergency due to the significant flooding that is expected.
Our personal concern here is the area behind our house may not drain fast enough if the rain remains heavy and steady which means the only place the water can go is onto our porch and right through our back door. Never happened before but we have never been up against this much potential rainfall before.
Although there is a hurricane lurking off our coast, that is expected to head farther out to sea but was never part of the rain equation to begin with so we are getting wet regardless.
I may be off the grid for a couple days depending on how things go but the only thing I would have available to photograph is water anyway so we will have to see how it goes.
Me and the cat floating around our back yard in a boat might make for a possible blip I suppose. :-)
Oh...see happy alligator pics from yesterday here if you wish: http://phillanoue.com/2015/09/30/gotta-love-a-nice-toothy-grin/
