Afternoon At The Marsh

Stopped in briefly at the marsh this afternoon on the way home from grocery shopping and only had the little point and shoot along. Plus we had frozen food in the car so couldn't stay long. :-)
Anyway I saw this osprey come in for a landing and then try to maintain balance on the end of this branch. Considering there are lots of thick, full size tree branches all over the place, I'm not sure how the bird decided this had to be the one.
On the way out, I grabbed this extra blip of rain clouds moving in over the marsh. If you look carefully in the lower left corner you can see our alligator friend gliding along. Unfortunately, we have a tropical system heading our way for Thur., Fri., and Sat. that is expected to drop incredibly heavy rain on us along with high winds. We have some tall pines right behind us that with this already loose, spongy soil, I'm hoping won't come over on our house this weekend.
