Picture at the Patch #2

As some of you know, I like to search for the perfect pumpkin. And, I'm not real good, but I like to try to carve a couple, too.

There were no harried lookers...
out searching  on a hayride.
And, there were no little children...
that I had to push aside.

Row after row...I did walk,
in search of the perfect pumpkin.
And...if I could happen to find it...
do you think I could find its twin?

THERE IT IS! THERE IT IS!
IT'S IDEAL! IT'S A GEM!
But, in my haste to snatch it up...
I broke it at the stem.

I didn't find my just-right piece...
didn't get my pumpkin reward.
I...slowly...walked...back to my van...
still in search of a flawless gourd.

Actually, it's too early to buy a pumpkin, and WAY too early to carve one.

I'm still on the hunt.
