Pickerings Pasture
On a third successive sunny day, I headed down to Pickerings Pasture on the banks of the River Mersey. It was my first time down here and I didn't know what to expect.
I needn't have worried - is a lovely little nature reserve with a few short trails that form part of the Pennine Way.
Full of autumnal colours, dogs and their owners and birds alike, it was a good couple of hours in the sunshine.
I spotted this bird, which I think might be some sort of a kestrel, on a high branch looking out for his dinner.
I think I might come here again. :)
