Flying over the Pyrenees
This photo was taken from the plane window on my flight from Barcelona to Paris Charles de Gaulle.
In Paris Charles de Gaulle I was supposed to take another flight that took me to Edinburgh. However, things didn't go as planned. To start with, the flight from Barcelona was about fifteen minutes late, which really worried me because I only had 50 minutes between flights. On arrival to Charles de Gaulle, things became further complicated because we had to wait for quite a while before they opened the doors of the plane and then we had to take a shuttle bus that took us to the terminal. When we got to the terminal, there was a long queue at passport control because there was only ONE policeman checking passports. At that point my stress levels were already really high because, as far as I was aware, boarding had already started on my flight. After passport control, I couldn't find a bloody information screen telling me which gate I had to go to, so I just run aimlessly in one direction until I found an information desk. I had run in the complete oposite direction by the looks of it. I had to run again then, asking everybody to help me with not much success. By the time I managed to find the gate, after having to go through security control checks, it was closed and I was told that I would have to take a flight the next day. The girl at the Air France information desk told me that she felt really sorry that this had happened. At that point I think I was having a rather visible nervous breakdown, because the girl did everything possible to help me. She was really nice. She booked me in a hotel with dinner and breakfast included and also gave me a boarding pass for the next available flight in the morning. Everything at no extra charge. She also managed to calm me down. This is what I call great customer service!
However, I was so stressed and tired and the hotel room was so warm that I didn't manage to get much sleep, but It was nice to be in a comfy bed rather than the airport seats.
Not the best day, as you can see, but I'm glad it all ended well. I was also glad I didn't have to work on Sunday!!
Thanks very much for all your nice comments and stars. I hope you're all enjoying your weekend!
