Sixtieth Birthday Bash

I had a wonderful birthday celebration at the Waldschenke, a restaurant in the forest. The food was fabulous, most of us had game for which this restaurant is well known, especially at this time of year. There were 14 of us, 10 of the invited people weren't able to come which was disappointing, but this group was just the right size, really. Family run restaurants such as this are very welcoming and allow guests to bring their own cakes for dessert. Hubby baked a huge pavlova (his always turn out better than mine), I baked some tiny Portuguese custard tarts to use up the egg yolks, a friend baked the most wonderful Poppyseed torte and another made apple and pear muffins. I got some really lovely presents and I feel lucky to have made such nice friends over here. (Missing my Australian friends and family, though)
I didn't take a single photo - Hubby took some very bad ones - he usually is much better - and the friend from yesterday's 70th party took some but I haven't seen them, yet. I even forgot to photograph the restaurant so I have included some from a previous visit on Flickr here along with Hubby's better photos. When I got home I decided to blip the gorgeous flowers that our neighbours brought in before we all left for the restaurant.
