Cozy Quarters
Here we are in "our" cozy Edinburgh flat, sipping a beer, courtesy of fellow blippers, BB and DD, and trying to pluck up energy to walk out into the cold drizzle...
Long drive up from Sutton Coldfield, but through some stunning scenery and a stop at the best motorway services ever - Tebay on the M6 - wonderful, locally sourced food, great shopping, ponds with ducks, and we walked down to the hotel - stunning, with a log fire in the lounge.
PS. Much later... just to prove we did stir ourselves - walked into the centre, took the extra of the castle from Princes Street; really enjoyed walking the length of Rose Street, where we had a very good pizza from a small place with a proper pizza oven. And no drizzle at all - quite pleasant, actually.
Such dusky grandeur clothed the height,
Where the huge castle holds its state,
And all the deep slope down,
Whose ridgy back heaves to the sky,
Piled deep and massy, close and high,
Mine own romantic town!
- Sir Walter Scott
