a Dutch Icon

I first became aware of Rembrandt van Rijn in July 1969.  It was in the National Gallery of Scotland that I came across a self-portrait and was just hooked.  No real idea why - just one of those things, I guess.  Ever since, I’ve wanted to see The Night Watch.  And today I did see it.  But I haven’t  really looked at it.  Just too many people to get up close and personal.   Another time perhaps.
