Reunion

A most welcome visit today from Marilda, who worked for us for a few years before a husband came along and enticed her away. She and her son, Genilson, lived in. He’s two or three years older than Chiara and got on really well with both girls, sometimes coming up to Teresópolis with us, where I was happy to encourage them to climb trees and do other things that Rio doesn’t offer much opportunity for. Genilson now lives way up north, but Marilda’s still in Rio and we love to see her whenever she has a moment. Chiara and Thaisa last saw her when she came for a barbecue during their visit for HH’s 70th. Thaisa having reminded Marilda how much she enjoyed her strawberry jam, M’s husband went out at the crack of dawn to find strawberries and they brought the jam with them the same day!
