Something's Wrong

When we open our back door to go anywhere, the birds...they do scatter.

So, I was real surprised that when we left for church yesterday, this sparrow didn't move. He/she just stayed on the feeder.

Same thing this morning. It just sat there. I don't think that it is young, but I do think he/she has problems. It almost looks like the birds mouth is tarred shut, like it can't get the food away from its beak.

It also doesn't fly very well, and when it does fly away...it just sits down on my back sidewalk, making him/her an easy mark for a predator.

I always hope I'm wrong, but I don't foresee a good future for this wee creature. Sad.
