The Isle of Lewis leaves for the Isle of Lewis

We had a walk along the seafront in Ullapool this morning before leaving for home. It was a lovely calm morning, with the midgies making their first appearance of our holiday, and the ferry was just loading and preparing to leave for its journey to the Isle of Lewis. We heard recently that this boat will be replaced in a couple of years with a larger, faster, and more 'eco friendly' ferry. I'm sure the islanders will be looking forward to its arrival as this boat has not been universally popular in terms of reliability and abilities in rough weather.
