Over the Boatyard Wall

17.8C starting dull, getting brighter, then an afternoon of showers (some heavy).

Early grocery shopping this morning. Once we were back home and it was all packed away it was time to go and collect Maeve the Deerhound from the boarding kennels just North of Arbroath.

The full speed bouncy Maeve appeared from the kennel block. As per the accepted norm I made a well timed grab and put her front paws on top of the wall that runs round the area where the cattery is. That saves a lot of jumping and bouncing and general everybody getting bumped and pawed.
It takes a few minutes to calm her down so we can walk her safely to the car. Usually while she is standing by the wall she gets some cuddles and we can say thank you and goodbye to the kennels staff :-)

On the way home we decided to stop at Arbroath harbour and have a walk round. Maeve was looking a bit scruffy and definitely a few pounds lighter (she often doesn't eat for a few days in kennels) but it was good to be walking with her again. We got various photos round the harbour and I liked this one looking over the boatyard wall best. I like all the ladders and scaffolding lined up by the boat and its colours of course :-)

Maeve will sleep a lot for the rest of the day and I'll make sure she gets a few bits of cheese and some treats now and again.
