Unusual Lunch in Bellagio

The photograph shows the Bilacus Restaurant where we normally have lunch when we are in Bellagio. We were last there a couple of weeks ago. Today we decided to be more economical and have a bar lunch.

Bellagio is a tourist hot spot, and as a result it is difficult to find a good place for lunch. We decided to head for a bar we have been to a couple of times previously, though not this year, and which we had recommended to somebody a week or so ago.

Well it is normally quite difficult to be disappointed by a meal in Italy. However Bellagio does have a lot of tourists, so turnover rather than quality tends to be the driving economic factor here. Today unusually we managed a very disappointing lunch, in fact it barely deserves being described as lunch. There was very little to choose from a very tired menu. As regards the people to whom we had suggested the bar, we were relieved they had chosen our other suggestion and gone to the Bilacus
