Vietnam Memorial near Angel Fire, New Mexico.
The visit here was the surprise of the day. This is a photo of the entrance and in the wall is an image of David Westphall. He was raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico and his parents owned the land the memorial now stands on. When their son a Marine First Lieutenant was killed in an ambush in Vietnam along with 15 young men in his unit they decided to build a memorial. They began in the early 70's when I believe it wasn't popular to honour Vietnam Veterans.
The combination of the landscape and the exhibits in the visitors centre made this a very moving experience.
