Old Homestead Under the Milky Way, Wedderburn
It's been a full day down here in Central Otago, as me and Mrs H criss-crossed the Maniototo basin.
Our day started off with a trip to St Bathan's and the Blue Lake, followed by a drive up to the Falls Dam and it's surreal, plug-hole outlet (see the extras for a shot of this). After morning tea there, we decided to climb up to the windswept Poolburn Reservoir and its impressive and bizarre schist landscape.
Last stop of the day (after a meal in the Wedderbrn pub of course!) was up at this old homestead on the hills above the village. I've taken photos here before, but not at night, so it was a real privilege to return after sundown and grab today's blip and more.
Tomorrow sees us return home (through the Pigroot and Palmerston this time) but I can't wait to get back down here once more.
