Blipmeeters chase the aurora!

We left Hveragerdi and set off to drive northwards. We passed many interesting places and stunning scenery.
We stopped at Hvitserkur. A basalt sea stack in the shape of an animal. I thought it looked like a hippo drinking from the water!
We confronted a 4x4 vehicle herding sheep along the road (I'm sure they use dogs in the UK!). The sheep were a bit scared, probably bcz they'd heard about how much Pete and I liked the traditional Iceland lamb soup.
We had a strange rainbow experience whilst going over a 540metre high mountain pass. At the beginning it was a small bit of wide rainbow end. But as we turned into the valley it became a complete arch, just ahead of our car, and it travelled with us, just ahead of our car!
We met a raven at a petrol station, who made funny imitation clacking noises.
We all went out for a lovely meal after we arrived in Akureyri, and enjoyed the local beer.
We had been talking to another lady from blip, Bergfoto, who had taken an amazing Aurora picture a night or 2 ago, and she suggested all meeting up. So we did. And as we were all talking in the apartment, the northern lights, or aurora borealis started to play in the sky. We went out onto the balcony, and watched as they danced in the sky. We then decided to drive a little further out, so as to get rid of light pollution, but by then it was more cloudy, and the aurora was more of a green diffuse light in the sky.
Pete took the main pic of the 4 blippers, as we were slowly freezing our fingers off in the cold outside, in the name of aurora photos!
