Valpariso - Sunshine after the rain
Yesterday it poured down rain all day. We managed to make it out for an hour to visit the home of Pablo Neruda, a famous Chilean poet who won a Nobel prize for his work. Today we woke up to beautiful sunshine, although temps still freezing cold. We wandered the streets stumbling across some traditional Chilean dancers and more beautiful street art. After finding a food truck and enjoying some delicious Pad Thai for lunch, we went on a short boat tour around the harbor to get a different view of the city. As Chile is more expensive we have had to start cooking a lot more rather than eating out to save money. We found a local farmer selling veges at the top of our street and stocked up for the next couple of nights. We had lentils and veges, accompanied by red wine. Our friends from Switzerland, Jess and Claudio were also staying in our hostel so we just chatted all night.
