Flower Friday

This is indeed a flower, although if someone decided to send you a bouquet of them you may wish to question your friendship.  It is almost green so many people don't notice it, it looks remarkably similar to the buds that precede it and the berries that follow, it smells strongly of ammonia and left to its own devices, the plant will often strangle the tree that it climbs.  But the flies and wasps love it and at this time of year it is difficult to walk past a hedge where it is growing without hearing the low hum of all those insects feeding on the nectar.  It is, of course, an ivy flower, and the hedgerows around here seem to be full of the blooms at the moment.

I'm not sure how the Flower Friday tags work; two weeks ago it seemed to be FF25 so I assumed today would be FF27 but everyone seems to be putting FF9 as their tag, so I've done the same.  Confused.......
