Slightly pre-loved

So it was off to the marathon expo this morning for Mme Tepeka to pick up her bib number and tracking chip, and for us to wander around and marvel at the amazing variety of running gear for sale.

It's generally all the same stuff: trainers, shorts and tops, energy drinks, protein bars, etc, etc. But the stall above was definitely something we hadn't seen before: a second-hand trainers stall. I wouldn't have thought that people about to run a marathon were a good target market for used trainers, but it turns out I was wrong. The stall was swamped with people trying to pick up a bargain.

Later, after getting the shuttle bus (an actual yellow school bus!) back into the city centre, we took a stroll through Millennium Park and did touristy stuff like taking pictures of the big metal bean (extra attached).

Sadly, my pizza-eating plans have gone sorely awry so far. Three meals into our stay, and I've yet to have a single slice of pizza. I assure you this situation will be rectified...
