A New Kayaker

We had a busy day. Went to 2 different 1-day festivals. We first took Merrick to a car-plane show. On my flickr page...there are photos of 2 glorious old cars, and Merrick and Grandma in front of a DeLorean and a small plane. Now...we'll have to make him watch Back to the Future.

The boy was getting a little pre-nap cranky, so we dropped him off at his house.

We then went to a Greek Festival. Count it up. 2 bucks each to get in. A Souvlaki plate (pork skewers and rice.) 9 bucks. A Pastitsio (layered macaroni with tomatoes, ground beef, and Bechamel cheese.) 6 bucks. Bottled water. 2 bucks. Grand total? 21 bucks for lunch. The bottled water bothered me the most. Who do they think they are? A major league ballpark? The young greek dancers couldn't overcome the price of the water, either.

But...the big news of the day? LISA GOT INTO THE KAYAK!!! And...just like Mikey...SHE LIKED IT!!! SHE ACTUALLY LIKED IT, and it helped that we got to see a swan family with 8 babies. I even got the swan warning that I was getting too close.

When we got back to the dock...young Nehemiah (maybe 10 years old) was enthralled with the boats, so we loaded him up, and he oared away. When we left...he asked us if we could come back next Saturday.

Navigate it into LARGE for a look at the 3 hot-air balloons flying overhead. I was hoping they would dip down into the lake...but the winds of chance pushed them the other way.

Lisa....WAY TO GO....SUNSHINE!!! She looked like Paddling Patty.
