Burragarth
It's been a mostly cloudy day and the odd spit of rain. As we traveled south, the day seemed to brighten up and even sunny spells at times.
Up early and after breakfast, we headed out to visit friends Fraser and Louise, although Fraser was out. A few cups of tea later and a great catch up, it was onwards to see Julie and family. After a brief visit, it was time to go exploring, before returning to Julie's for lunch. We nipped down to the fair trade shop in Haroldswick, met Rhoda Hughson and she told me that she's booked me and Julie a spot at the Unst Boat Haven for a exhibition in 2017. I'll have to get my thinking cap on and organise the show :) Time to leave Unst and head back home again.
Been to see friends this evening and then heading out with friends tonight.
I do love to explore Unst, there's always something new for me to find. Today I found a couple of abandoned houses at Burragarth. This old house was abandoned about 10 years ago. The roof is falling into a bad way and water is now getting inside the house, won't be long before it falls in. It felt like the person just left, clock still on the mantelpiece and their personal belongings lying around. I can only imagine it's once been a happy home and a happy place to sit by the fire. Taken at Burragarth, Unst.
