Elvira and the Secret Viaduct: Book 1

Anyone familiar with Janet and John Books (and Secret Seven books!) will 'get' my title!  I have been away with the Duke of Edinburgh again this weekend for the Bronze Assessment and pleased to say all 14 youngsters easily passed, yahey!  Elvira is the newest addition to our staff band of volunteers and she has Mini Bus Driver qualifications so even more so invaluable.  She wanted a break from sitting behind the wheel today so she took a walk with me from Bolton Bridge, up through Lob Wood to the top of the hill to observe if the youngsters coped through a tricky navigation section, but also to check out if the herd of cows + bull which we encountered last year, was in the field they had to cross.  They were but thankfully idled across the far side as the youngsters came through.  I was particularly pleased that Elvira was going to encounter the Secret Viaduct on our climb through the wood.  The trains no longer rattle across here and the path is little used so it's a magical place.  Thanks for the company Elvira!
