Lairig Ghru

Back at the top of the Lairig Ghru - no sign of any snow yet, but I suspect this will be my final visit to the top of the pass this year.  The next visit will probably be in late November, when I suspect that even if the weather co-operates there won't be enough daylight for me to do the walk.

The clearest memories from today's walk, again in shirt sleeves, will probably be the sounds.  As I sat at the top of the Lairig Ghru eating lunch I could hear the gurgling of a group of ptarmigan, the bellowing of stags high up in the valley, and calls of a huge skein of geese passing overhead.  A magic day.
