Bolivian Salt Flats
I was underwhelmed when we were told our first visit today would be the railway cemetery, but you can imagine how much Mr C enjoyed it. - Old trains abandoned when they finished mining silver.
We then carried to the amazing salt flats. It was great fun taking altered perspective photos such as me holding Mr C in the palm of my hand - but I chose this one as it shows how much we are enjoying our trip.
Then we went on to a place made from salt where the drivers provided a nice lunch, before moving on to an island in it all where there were giant cacti. We are at 3500m with a strong wind, so it was quite a puffing job to get up the hill there. The flats are 12,000 sq metres - we drove all day, heading northwest.
Just as it got dark we arrived at our salt hotel - the bed and walls are made of salt. It is quite cosy though minus something outside.
