In my room

This is the view from the bed of our hotel room in downtown Addis, not far from the airport and on a busy road.
You can sit on the balcony and watch the world go by, or you can listen to it from the bed.
Theres a lot to listen to...cars, taxis and buses honking, minibus conductors shouting "Bole, BOLE!" (Thats the way to the airport), and heavy trucks grinding up the gears.A religious service broadcast all afternoon over loudspeakers and a shop radio blaring Ethiopian music. Banging from a construction site and welding at "Ruth Spare Part". Children shouting as they leave school. A small yellow bird singing its heart out on the telegraph wires.

The Internet is rubbish here and it takes an age to load a blip. Please excuse my lack of comments on your journals, but I appreciate you looking and commenting on mine. Normal service will be resumed next month.
