surgery begins

Today was the first day of surgery for Facing Africa. The charity rents theatre space at the MCM Korean Christian Hospital in Addis Ababa and this year have the use of two brand-new theatres. Someone has nicknamed them "Chris" and "Terry" after the founders and trustees of FA. 
I was in theatre "Chris" today, where three operations were scheduled to take place. The patients walk down from the ward and are anaesthetised on the table.
All went smoothly today in both theatres..9 more operating days to go.
