The old fort on the top of Box Hill has been there from Napoleonic times, protecting us from the neighbouring French. Members of the WI Camera Group are reading the boards to find out the history of the site. I can't give any more details of its history because I was busy taking photographs! After visiting the fort some visted the famous view point and other sought out the view overlooking the Mole Gap. It was a dull chilly afternoon so I don't think there will be many pictures to put on the WI website.
The cup of tea in the National Trust cafe was very welcome,
