Conservation

Or maybe conversation? This is a statue of Gerald Durrell who is famous for his affinity with animals.
Today in Jersey we visited the Durrell Wildlife Trust, formerly Jersey Zoo. Founded by Gerald Durrell, the Trust is concerned with conservation of endangered species throughout the world, and this park is a small part of their work. Nevertheless we saw gorillas, orang outangs, tiny little aye-ayes from Madagascar and many other species. Their enclosures were all in a parkland setting and on a fine warm day it made a pleasant visit.
Afterwards we pottered along the coast again before making our way back through tiny island lanes to our comfortable hotel.
