Backlit
11.6C and bright with plenty of cloud around so few sunny spells. Zephyr.
Apothecary7's day off. We went into Dundee and were quite amazed on the drive in to see the thick mist lying along the river Tay with clear sky above. We had tea/coffee in M&S cafe, bought some groceries, then took Maeve the Deerhound for a walk up to The Howff. It has been a while since we visited so we enjoyed wandering around amongst the trees and the headstones. The herbaceous border which provides so much colour through the year still had some bursts of colour left and lots of interest in shapes and structure with seed heads and stems coming into their own.
On the way home we went to the local Royal Mail sorting office to pick up a parcel, which apparently needs a signature. I missed the delivery yesterday when I was in the back garden. When we got to the office the door was closed. Open 9am to 12 noon ! Tomorrow morning then.
For Abstract Thursday I have used a backlit frosted window from a building as seen from inside The Howff as my starting point. The colours in each section were manipulated then layered in several stages over the original to create this image which retains shape of the central vertical strip of the window frame.
