Getting to be a habit

Last Thursday it was the Cathedral by night - tonight it is the Maltings. On the riverside at Ely the old maltings building was converted to a multipurpose amenity some years ago. It can be a conference centre, wedding venue, theatre or cinema. The cinema only seats about 200 and may not have the latest blockbuster, but the reason I have started going is because it shows the live transmissions from London theatres. In the past month I have seen Shakespeare's Coriolanus from the Donmar Warehouse, The Importance of being Earnest (with David Suchet as Lady Bracknell) from the Shaftesbury Theatre and tonight it was the National Theatre production of Hamlet with Benedict Cumberbach from the Barbican. All excellent and a way of seeing live theatre only 15 minutes from home and for only £13.50 a seat.
