Kinneil House- one of Scotland's hidden gems
Retired family doctor Tom Sargent is a volunteer guide at Kinneil House one of Scotland's hidden gems.
He has a face straight out of a pre- Renaissance wall painting in fact there is a striking resemblance between his face and one of the Kinneil House 15h century murals.
Six days a year it is open free to the public so we decide to take a half hour drive to Bo'ness and visit it this afternoon.
While the grounds and parkland are open to the public all year round the house is just a shell though a £70,000 feasibility study is underway to see if they can come up with a use for this building.
Built in the 16th century it was saved from demolition in 1936 when they discovered two rooms with wall murals.
Another claim to fame is that Scots inventor James Watt began his early development of the steam engine in a cottage adjacent to Kinneil House
