HBMum!

Today was my wonderful Mum's birthday, so a day of spoiling her rotten. We woke up and she opened her hundreds of cards, then presents; she was suitably surprised and delighted about our trip to Belgium in December to visit some of the Christmas markets. I made a slap-up breakfast of fancy porridge, then we head to Walton for a bracing walk along the seafront at the Naze and a breezy but sunny picnic. As the final surprise of the day, we went bowling on the pier; it turned out it was only  Mum's second time ever, so lots of laughs and she chucked the bowl down the lane, and when I mistakenly threw mine backwards on one shot. Somehow, I won and Mum came a very impressive third (last!), but only 20 points behind. It was great fun! We warned up back at hers with some birthday cake, tea and f1 qualifying, then up to the village hall for a very tricky quiz night. What a brilliant day!
